Tim O’Brien This Week, Elvis Costello LP and Thanks
Tim O’Brien Plays Here This Week, new Costello LP and thanks to y’all for the Yard Sale-Record Store Day Love Fest.
Well it took almost 2 days to mop up the mess and then get all our power naps in after the huge showing this weekend at the Yard Sale and Record Store Day and two back to back in-store concerts Saturday. What a blast y’all!!! Thanks to each and everyone of our customers and neighbors who stopped in, shopped, wished us well, supported the live music and generally made it feel good to be a record store (at least for a day!). The good news is that we are rolling on into another action packed week of releases (Billy Bragg, Lyrics Born, Atmosphere, Jonathan Richman, Stanton Moore, Tab Benoit).
A ton of new stuff from politics and love rock, to hip-hop, to Funk and bayou blues and even some sloppy rock Replacements re-issues. What could be better? How about TIM O’BRIEN PLAYS LIVE HERE THURSDAY at 4PM?! Tim is stopping in on his way to MerleFest to share some of his songs while we tape for Tower of Song on WNCWfm. Tim’s new CD Chameleon is a beaut. We will be blessed with a set from one of America’s finest songwriter- singer- instrumentalists. Read all about it.
Beyond that we also just re-stocked a large batch of those wonderful indie-store exclusive titles, CD and LPs. Stuff featuring bonus tracks, live sets from in-stores, imports and more from artist you care about like Jason Isbell, Feist, Josh Ritter, Ben Harper, DJ Shadow, Wood Brothers, Hold Steady, and much much more. See them (and buy ‘em) all in the Indie Exclusive section of our web store. And YES, we still have a decent selection of some of the better Record Store Day freebies here to continue to say thanks every day for visiting ole Horizon Records. So please come shop and we’ll let you choose a FREE CD or LP from our give away box on the counter because we believe everyday is Record Store Day. That’s why we’re here, I think.
