New Avett Brothers CD & LP out now !
Hey Everybody,
Man, I’m lovin’ it! You see the headline! New AVETT BROTHERS on CD and LP. My new favorite Texas rocking songwriter is Hayes Carll (recommended if you like Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, James McMurtry and the lot) and he’s playing The Handlebar Tuesday night at 8:30pm and doing an in-store right up in here at 4PM to give us a preview and sign a few CDs, plus we got some killer free swag – if you buy a ticket to the concert you get a rare graphic-zine/comic book that Hayes produced, while supplies last. AND Rocket Number Nine Zoom Zoom Up plays in the Café Tuesday at 9pm. Did I mention that that our ongoing DJ Tuesday Night Vinyl action will be cooking all funky and what not at 7pm up to 9pm when the live music starts. So it’s going to be an Austin/Chicago/Brooklyn kinda night here in the North End. We love that.
How about a new Buddy Guy CD? Or how about LPs, yes LPs vinyl records of the new Beck, Avett Brothers, Hayes Carll, and the latest My Morning jacket For the more indie-centric amongst us we are still stroking with LPs ( ok and CDs too) from Ratatat, Fleet Foxes, Vampire Weekend, Silver Jews, Bonnie Prince Billy, Wolf Parade, and Foals and etc. CDs are still in style I don’t care what the nay sayer media and blog dweebs say. Right here trash & treasure shopping starts at $1 and the used CDs are in every conceivable corner and genre from $2.99 to $7.99 all in real full digital not mp3 junk files — a quality CD beats a download any time. You play it, you slap it on your iPod and guess what, you still have a full digital high res original disc with booklet, credits and liner notes or a portable copy. Yo. Technology — no problem. Highest quality sound from analogue vinyl records or a real digital CD much better. Ok rant over.

That’s about it y’all. Brace yourself it’s gonna be 100 degrees for a few days or more. Time for iced coffee and some down low jazz. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Come see us.
