Stunning releases & economic implosion. What a dang week. Oh well, we’re still here bringing you the hits, Free In-Store Shows, Drawings for Free tickets to the everybodyfields and Peace Center concerts and Can you say SKUNK FEST?

Greetings oh noble collectors of music, Northend neighbors, vinyl hounds, industry pundits, and all you just plain folks, I’m sitting here by the phone waiting for the Federal Reserve to call so we can discuss my bid for some of that 700 billion dollars of bail out cash. They haven’t called yet but I’m hopeful. I mean I keep hearing about “Main Street America” - Heck, we are ON Main Street. I’d be glad to accept half a million $ and a stack of classical CDs as a severance package. Compare that to what’s going on Wall Street and in bank world. Alas for now it’s probably better to remember the cliché “If you can’t be grateful for what you have, be grateful for what you have been spared“. Amen.

The good news is we got an awe inspiring stampede of new releases this week. for example : Old Crow Medicine Show (yah), TV On The Radio (blah), Edgar Meyer & Chris Thile (nice), Jenny Lewis (ooh la la), Kings Of Leon (rawk), Thievery Corporation (sweet), and my old favorite (go ahead and snicker, I don’t care) Jackson Browne. This is great record from one of the most endearing voices of our time who hasn’t put out a GREAT studio set of new tunes in a long long time. Social consciousness meets California Folk-Soul it soothes the savage beast. Lord knows we all need some of that here lately. Mellow vibe infused with some strong heartfelt messages all through this one. OK.

Keep an Attitude of Gratitude and read these reminders and then come see us.
