Lookout, Here we go, it’s December.

What a wacky December it is. We’re so busy in here we’re not sure whether to have a pimento cheese sandwich or go blind to paraphrase an old cliche. The Record Fair and our storewide sale are ramping up for Saturday and all the elves are scurrying about pricing and sorting and stocking mountains of used LPs, used CDs, new arrivals, old boxes of stuff we found in the hallway, receiving orders of shiny new holiday CDs, new records, old 45’s, etc etc. The fun starts Friday night when some guest DJs crank up a their special secret selections on a pair of turntables right on the counter from 7 to 10pm and then the party continues in The Bohemian Cafe ’til ….?  Expect Chris Wenner of Columbia to blast some killer Reggae, and Sindoolah, Byron, Marcus and Lauren and several others to be spinning everything from rare Soul to garage rock to psychedelic nuggets to Tony Bennett (well maybe not Tony Bennett, sorry Mom). Then Saturday all day is THE GREENVILLE RECORD FAIR at The Real Gypsy on West Washington and a STORE WIDE SALE at Horizon. You’re just not nobody unless you stop in both places. Nobody will be trampled. Just the opposite, actually, we will be sharing in the joy, the splendor, and dare I say the human comedy of of collecting, buying and selling MUSIC, especially records, but also lots of eclectic new and used CDs, Books, guitar parts, tall tales and just plain stuff

So c’mon- the decorations are all hung with care (thanks Matt & Caroline). I have our Blue Yule CD and Fleshtones Stocking Stuffer CD all  ready to go. Stewart and crew have the Bohemian Cafe literally glowing with holiday cheer and all we need is you. Who cares what the economy is doing? Down here on the ground it’s another day in Indie music retail on the corner of Stone Ave. and yes, MAIN STREET. Come see us. You can have a lot of fun for not much money
