Wooooo-eeeee y’all! Great tunes and free concerts here at Horizon Records
Spring time has busted out all over the place and so have the great tunes and concerts here at Horizon Records. Live show-wise it’s rockin’ through the week. Yesterday’s Red Cortez in-store was a major eye opener: great band- visions of an American U2-stylee full on guitar driven rock classic-ness. I hope they’ll be back later this year. Thursday its DEX ROMWEBER 4PM in-store and evening gig celebrating the swank new CD/LP release “Ruins Of Berlin”. Dex is an institution. Come and see and hear why.
Then Saturday at 3pm the upcoming duo LEFT LANE CRUISER blast all up in here. They bring a bucket load of attitude in BLUES drenched grungy-mess or is it messy GRUNGE-drenched BLUESY-ness? Either way it’s awesome and loud and just right for you especially if you like junk like Black Keys, Tom Waits and Black Diamond Heavies. Yo.
Yes, yes, the new Neko Case CD now in stock & on sale 12.99
Yes. Yes. Yes. The new Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy “Beware” is already on the way. CD & LP. Stay cool.
Hey, check it out:
PRESERVATION HALL JAZZ BAND
coming to The Handlebar Friday, March 13.
New release action is full tilt tasty this week also. An onslaught of indie type delights wailed in here already. It’s a full blessing of song writer pop folk rocker warriors and a few fu nk and psychedelic captains as well. Bishop Allen, Justin Townes Earle, D. M. Stith (my new favorite sad/happy good bleak non folk-ster), Extra Golden, Arbouretum, Buddy & Julie Miller, Neko Case and tons more. NEW and re-stocking VINYL is plentiful as well: Byrne /Eno, Jason Isbell, Extra Golden, Arbouretum, Bishop Allen, Dex Romweber and Left Lane Cruiser of course. And re-stocks on Sigur Ros, Vampire Weekend, Ratatat, Department of Eagles, Pixies, Mountain Goats, yada yada yada.
Gosh, that’s a lot more than I thought I was going to say. What have you got to say? Come see us and let us know. Or drop in and shout us at Facebook, MySpace or Twitter.
Peace.
