BOB DYLAN’s latest “Together Through Life” arrives on CD & LP

by Gene

Three things are for sure right now. One: it’s Monday and I got spring fever, baaaaad. Two: Any week Bob Dylan chooses to release new material is a big week at Horizon. Whether you are feelin’ Dylan’s last few offerings or whether you’re a stuck in the classics Dylan-ite makes no difference. New Dylan is always an opportunity to hear what’s on the mind of one of most startling, visionary and confoundingly challenging artists of our generation. Bob Dylan is nothing if not unpredictable and usually way ahead of us on his own devil may care path and that’s the way it should be. This Dylan is no exception as it continues where Modern World left off, blues, folky stuff randomly wander through the 12 tracks with his working band plus David Hidalgo (of Los Lobos) now on accordion, some old guy love songs, some political snarl and at least one delightful sarcastic masterpiece “It’s All Good”. The third thing for sure this week: it’s all about PALEFACE and his new CD “The Show Is On The Road”. Senor PALEFACE is a pal of the Avett Brothers and is on their Ramseur Records, and that’s enough for us. He’s chosen to do his national release street date in-store right here so dang it let’s have some fun! Bring it on, bring the family, the neighbors and the partner and check this out.

“–kind of like Tom Waits and Kim Deal of the Pixies making quirky acoustic folk together” —Charlotte Observer

“–rousing 5-song set from Paleface & Mo (aka Avetts’ close pal PALEFACE on guitar and Monica Samalot on drums) opened the show. Tom Waits, Hank Williams and the Beatles in a blender — perfect openers for the Avetts” —Harp Magazine, Fred Mills

He and Monica will rock us and you’ll have a blast and maybe we’ll sell you the new CD. All you gotta do is COME SEE US.
