BAND OF HORSES – BLACK KEYS – MARY GAUTHIER !! + those old ROLLING STONES get Exiled On Main Street, again.

by

Well this week the Carolinas stand up and shout and are counted. The BAND OF HORSES, full of Columbia, Charleston and Asheville (yo TYLER RAMSEY!) rockers and writers launch their much much anticipated third record “Infinite Arms” – it’s lookin’ good and soundin’ GOOD. As for the other Carolina contenders, we are still crazy selling the AVETT BROS last one (and all their stuff), keep on stompin’ it boys.

BLACK KEYS bring it on this week also with their new ‘un called “Brothers”. Like the Band Of Horses we got it for you here ready to go: CD on Sale and real nice VINYL record versions available as well. The Black Keys is an exercise in more good an greasy blues and blues mutations from one of our favorites in the over crowed herd of current duo style bands. Plus just to show that what worked for the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix will work for Mick Jagger & Keith Richards here come the re-mastered re-release of the venerable classic rock n roll, country, blues and, uh, well, audio document of shall we say the fog of the halcyon days of rock n roll yore? The sessions sound more like a southern fried juke-joint band than ever before. Recorded in a basement the result is swampy exhilarating chunk of rock & roll euphoria. Call it what you want it’s available in several versions CD & LP including a bunch of bonus never release before tracks.
