Southern Funk, Down Home Blues Spirituality and Modern Folk…
Just Say YES! JJ GREY & MOFRO bless us with “Georgia Warhorse” the next chapter in their southern funk and blue collar swamp soul journey. This one is no exception to this tradition. Play it loud and often. We will be. The blues roll on this week rather gloriously with the new jam from guitarist, innovator and purveyor of hope Ronnie Earl – Spread The Love. Old school veteran Harmonica dude and worldly wise vocalist Charlie Musselwhite goes to The Well a delivers the uncut natural roots music. Love it! The folk and songwriter community steps up this week also with 2 stunning releases DYLAN LEBLANC‘s debut “Paupers Field”. Hear this one live when LeBlanc visits Horizon in The Bohemian Café for a CD release in-store next week Friday September 3rd at 5pm. Not to be missed. Plus S. Carey from Bon Iver band offers us his solo opus — a shimmering folk jewel — sort of whispering vocal folk songs floating in a modern classical setting; delightful and amazing.
A Thank You: To all the bands that have been a part of our ongoing Monday Night Revival series, most recently The Fine Art Ramblers, O Mello Cello, Discordia and J Michael King, to name just a few. See some images of all the fun.
