MARVELOUS MAHLER recordings

by

These 7 are only a start. I’ve selected 2 that feature Symphony No. 5; both feature the Bernstein/Vienna Philharmonic pairing that Maestro Tchivzhel and I are in complete agreement on. That was a very special series of recordings and concerts. The Panorama choice has the exquisite song cycle from that same series featuring the voice of Thomas Hampson – that is my favorite Mahler performance possibly of all. The others are some that I have picked after sifting through many many recordings and these seem to always return to the must hear must have stack. Enjoy!
