CHUCK PROPHET & THE MISSION EXPRESS
Cutting-edge renaissance rocker releases 13th album to national acclaim. Chuck Prophet revels in his San Francisco roots and his musical influences, which range from Velvet Underground-era Lou Reed to very-early Dylan to anytime Tom Petty to ‘70s Kinks and New York Dolls. And now Chuck celebrates his hometown and his musical inspirations in his massively acclaimed new record, Temple Beautiful, named for a long-shuttered ’Frisco punk club where he caught his first shows. Uncut magazine calls the record “mythological in scope, soulful in execution.” Chuck makes rock ‘n’ roll the way rock used to be made, classic rock that’s current, all from a renaissance man whose 13 albums include collaborations with or covers of songs from the likes of Warren Zevon, Cake, Lucinda Williams, Jonathan Richman, Kelly Willis and Alejandro Escovedo. In our show, he will be performing with a five-piece rock band, The Mission Express.
